Belt clips and P32 lanyard

Shown above are the P-32 belt clip kit part # (P32-380 ) available in left or right hand versions, right hand shown and the P-32 lanyard kit part # (P32-379 ) Both require you to replace the rear frame pin with a threaded metal pin to attach either the belt clip or lanyard wire.

lanyard installed as the directions indicate. This requires the use of the hex wrench to remove the cord. Some prefer to use the plastic clip to attach the cord to the P-32. (The clip is intended to hook the other end of the elasticized cord to a belt loop or button hole.) I find the plastic clip too bulky and prefer the method below to attach the cord without having to remove one of the hex head screws.

1. tuck one end of the cord through the lanyard wire. 2. thread the other end of the cord through the loop of the part you just put through the lanyard wire. 3. pull snug. This allows you to quickly attach or detach the cord without tools.

I carry the P-32 using the lanyard around my neck. In casual attire, I draw the P32 by pulling the neck of my shirt open with my off hand and drawing the weapon out of the neck hole with my strong hand. While wearing a shirt and tie, the PLAN is to grasp the shirt front with both hands and rip it open (ala Superman) to access the P32. This would ruin the shirt, but if the need to use the weapon arrises, the shirt becomes unimportant. To bring it into action, you simply grab it and stretch the elasticized cord to your normal shooting position. There is no need to pull the cord over your head. (please keep a firm grip when you stretch the cord out, or it may snap back and give you a fat lip.)

Some have expressed dismay at having to choose between the belt clip and the lanyard. I have found that you can install both at the same time. Install the frame pin from the lanyard and attach the non clip side of the lanyard wire. Adjust the lanyard wire so that it lines up with the gap in the clip when it is in position over the rear of the P-32. Attach the final screw through the clip and the lanyard wire.

Belt clip kit for the P-11/40 part # (P-380) (add S for stainless). Available for right hand only and requires the replacement of two frame pins with threaded metal pins. A true must have.
